Thriftie is a mobile app concept that reimagines how second-hand fashion works in urban environments.
Created in response to the environmental damage caused by fast fashion, it was designed to empower Colombians to buy, sell, and repair clothing through a more transparent and social digital experience.
The app bridges the gap between individuals, thrift shops, and repair experts by mapping sustainable options and building a community rooted in circular fashion.

About the project
The Goal
The goal was to create a single platform that simplifies access to second-hand clothing and encourages longer garment lifespans.
Thriftie allows users to explore nearby thrift stores, connect with individual sellers, create their own digital closets, and even share the stories behind each piece.
The app combines sustainable e-commerce with social interaction, allowing users to make conscious fashion choices while discovering the human stories behind the clothes.

What Was Achieved
Thriftie delivered a functional prototype centered on usability, emotional design, and environmental impact.
It featured a clean UI, community-driven features, location-based thrift shop discovery, and digital closet creation. Supported by benchmarking, user research, and personas, the app addressed gaps in existing second-hand platforms by including both buyers and repair professionals.
It positioned itself as more than a resale app, it became a tool for climate action and storytelling through fashion.
